Academic Dress

Just went to MPSH1 this morning to collect the academic dress... SOOOO fast, graduating le. Last time used to see ppl carry this big bag of thing now its finally moi turn.

The collection was quite systematic. Even though it is not my scheduled day to collect, I was still able to collect the dress w/o much difficulty. Payment is on the spot and 2 invitation cards as well as the Alumni card is issued to you on the same day too. The arrangement of collection reminds me of matriculation which coincidentally is also held at MPSH1. There are like cashiers and counters for different purposes. MPSH1 is really a good place for big events. matriculation, career fair, collection of dress as well as examinations! luckily, the commencement ceremony is not held at MPSH1. ><

Engineering's hood colour is gold and white, which is comparably nice. There's smtg i must comment though. It is advisable that after you get your dress and wanna try it at home, on the fan or aircon.. it's terribly warm in it!!! And, I dunno how to place the hood so that it rests nicely behind. It somehow seems a bit too long and big. hahaa! mayb some1 can yan2 jiu1 when he/she is free and let me know. haha!

Anyway, I think I look fat when i wear the gown. I still think its big. but what2do, XS is the smallest size!! hahaa!! soo exciting, finally graduating le, after like 4 years of "hard work" :) now looking forward to the commencement in July. Although it's surely going to be v boring, I'm sure it will be one experience! it's a once in a lifetime thing! (I hope the aircon is strong, I don't wanna be perspiring).

So for all you working coursemates out there, you can collect your dress at any time, any day. Sat is open from 9am - 4pm. Btw, why don't they call it a gown instead, think it sounds nicer than a dress. Heehee... oh and it wasn't very crowded. Be prepared to be stalked by ppl from the various studios asking u to sign up for their graduating photo package and there is also a stage photo where they will take a picture of you on stage receiving the degree. What good money! haha... hMm.. let's see what else have I left out.... Oh yup, you get a free can of drink at the end of all the collection and prepare yourself to hold losta things in your hand until they distribute the bag to you so u can dump them all in. It's pretty heavy. :) That's all! hope this post was informative!
